Blake & Emily were married this past Saturday at New Life Assembly of God in Janesville – because their hearts and passions are invested in the people of New Life, and it is also a place where their relationship budded and grew. It was Emily’s first day at work having moved from Maryland across the country to a town in the midwest and in walked Blake. While she said she wasn’t looking for anyone at the time – it was truly meant to be and they celebrated with the rest of their wedding at Villa Buonincontro in Fort Atkinson, WI.
I met Emily & Blake the morning of the wedding at the church – and while Emily knew that they would be exchanging gifts for one another what she didn’t know was that Blake would be singing her a song he wrote for her on their wedding day as a part of his gift. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room as he sang and played his guitar. Because New Life is so intertwined with their life and dreams, Blake & Emily also chose to have a special cookie reception for the youth from the church. Emily is the youth pastor at the church so it seemed fitting to spend time with them on their joyous day. They shared cookies, punch, lots of photos and smiles! From there they drove down the road to celebrate with their family & friends who traveled all across the country to join them for dinner & dancing in a barn not far from Madison. It was beautiful – the sun peeked out from the clouds and it was full of so much joy! The way these two light up for each other is so apparent!
