Meg and Jeff drove over five hours to spend the evening with me for their outdoor Northwoods Wisconsin engagement session, and I have to say – that alone is pretty amazing. Meg and I have been emailing back and forth for months planning their engagement session long-distance and keeping our fingers crossed that the dates we selected would result in amazing weather. It was beautiful. Our first day above 70 degrees and the perfect amount of sunshine… it set the tone for an amazing night.
Meg & Jeff met soon after Meg moved to Iowa and have been together ever since. They’re planning a lovely August wedding with a intimate, natural feel with only their closest family and friends (my favorite type of celebration). But before I get to the images of their engagement session I have to share their engagement story… because you see it’s one of my favorite things to hear about when I meet a couple! So… folks it all started with a trip to St. Louis (Jeff’s hometown), a Cardinals baseball game…. and some toasted ravioli or so I’m told. While on their trip they decided to go see the St. Louis Arch and at the bottom while Jeff pretended to push the arch over… he walked back and the next thing Meg knew he was down on one knee asking her to marry him. Here’s the best part…. with a 6-for-$1 heart-shaped dollar store engagement ring! Oh my gosh… a story to tell your grandchildren in years to come! Meg couldn’t believe it and she couldn’t believe when she actually saw the REAL ring (hint… it’s amazing).
I cannot wait to document Meg & Jeff’s day this coming August… here’s to them and some toasted raviolis!
