I am just so very excited that I am able to share Abbie & Isaiah’s day with you. Just days before the Stay-at-Home orders were released for Wisconsin & Minnesota Abbie & Isaiah were married in a Minneapolis courthouse wedding at the Hennepin County Government Center on a sunny & cold Saturday afternoon. Abbie & Isaiah wanted nothing more to have a small elopement ceremony – with some very special details. With the help of Abbie’s mom, who makes absolutely beautiful gown, together they came up with the perfect gown, a custom made tie and some gorgeous flowers from Hive & Hollow in Menomonie.
Abbie & Isaiah met just about four years ago at a party and sat and talked to each other most of the evening. They reconnected recently and while Isaiah was working in Washington D.C. Abbie made the trek out to see him. There at the Lincoln Memorial Isaiah asked Abbie to marry him! She was so taken by surprise, and of course said yes!
On the day of the wedding when we arrived at the Hennepin County Government Center that Saturday most everything was eerily quiet in downtown Minneapolis. We walked in the government center and rode the escalators up to the main atrium where we met Abbie, Isaiah and a few family members. Once the judge arrived he let Abbie & Isaiah choose where they would recite their vows to each other. So together we rode the elevator up to the 17th floor balcony where the sunlight was streaming in over them as they read their handwritten vows.
Shortly after the ceremony the judge whisked them into a courtroom to sit down & sign the official papers & take some fun retro photos in the dark room… and then they headed off to a romantic dinner with a small cake. Perfectly simple & lovely.
I’m so happy for these two, you can just see their happiness and love on their faces. Absolutely radiant & glowing!
