Megan and Joe are like a breath of fresh air. Recently (very recently) engaged these two are well on their way to planning a gorgeous September 2016 wedding at a new barn venue in the area. I’m just tickled about all of the plans they already have in place, because they’re truly thinking about how much their guests will be able to enjoy the day! I adored my time exploring their land for their late fall Elk Mound engagement session.
Megan & Joe met and from what they tell me there was no looking back! They met one evening in downtown Eau Claire and have been inseparable since that day, so it’s no surprise that Joe popped the question just a few short weeks ago. Joe surprised Megan by building a entertainment center by hand out of planks from the barn that will one day be where their house sits. He tore off the planks, piece by piece in the dark with only the light of a headlamp so that he could surprise Megan. He sent her off for a day of fun with one of her best friends and when she came home it was to a house decorated with balloons, roses and a gorgeous new reclaimed wood entertainment center. Then he got down on one knee and now they’re off to say I Do next year.
My favorite part about Megan & Joe’s engagement session was that we explored where they will one day build a house, some of the images below were taken in the exact place where the house will sit. I think it’s just so fun to dream of the view of the house from where we stood, for those images may hang on the walls for many years remembering the light & love they share. Here is part one of Megan & Joe’s engagement session (PS: this was early December… we wanted snow… instead we had 45 degrees and beautiful golden light. I won’t complain for one second!)
