Four years ago, Dan’s mom was overheard in the ladies room of their consignment store about his single dating status by Katelyn’s mom who was holding a fundraiser at the store… and Katelyn was also single. So, Katelyn’s mom gently nudged her that a handsome young man was in the next room and she should go check him out. Dan ended up giving Katelyn’s family a tour of the store and as in their words it was love at first sight. After the tour Katelyn took it upon herself to make sure that Dan got her phone number and they’ve been inseparable ever since that fateful day.
Katelyn and Dan were married at a lovely little spot tucked up behind the highest point in Wisconsin – Timm’s Hill (1,951.5 ft elevation for those of you who want to know…) at their High Point Village WI wedding in Ogema.
Katelyn emailed me about a week before the wedding and mentioned to me that she was going to surprise Dan by showing up to the wedding in a 1957 Chevy that she had rented from a family friend for the occasion. We had chatted a bit about the fact that by the time I arrived Dan would have already seen her drive in, but it just so happened that her salon appointment ran a little late that day. So, Katelyn’s mom arranged to make sure Dan was near the ceremony site to assure that Dan would hear the rumble of the engine as it drove up the hill and around the bend with his pretty bride inside. It was a day they had planned for over a year and it was just about as perfect as you can get!
